A 10-year mortgage rate today is a
wide range between 6.0% and 7.5%
with the lower end of the scale
reserved for high quality, very low
LTV loans.
Most quotes are in the high 6’s to
low 7’s.
These rates have declined in the
last few weeks, attributable to
tightening of corporate spreads and
declining Treasury yields from an
August high of 3.87% to today’s
3.45%.
There are not yet sufficient
economic indicator up-ticks for
interest rates to rise over the next
few months.
Inflation may be lurking but the
greater need (continued economic
turn-around) should keep rates low.
